My year at Capellagården was absolutely fantastic. I went to the gardener training and lived at the school in their very cozy house. I was already a trained gardener from Denmark before I came to Capella, but I still learned a lot and had a really good experience both professionally and personally. I learned a lot more about being a gardener in a sustainable way and how to take care of your harvest using different methods to be more self-sufficient.
At the same time, I lived with wonderful people, made so many nice friends and met my partner. An absolutely amazing year, which I appreciate so much.
After Capella…
Now I work as a gardener together with my partner at Astrid Lindgren's Näs. There I work with the cultivation of vegetables, a display garden with perennials and trees, a meadow environment where we mow with a scythe and I am the animal manager for rabbits, chickens and sheep. My time at Capellagården gave me a lot of knowledge that I now use as a gardener, and I am so grateful for the friendships I have made there.
The training has given me many opportunities both as a grower and gardener, which is so much fun.
My advice to future students:
Enjoy and absorb as much knowledge from Capella as possible. There is a lot you can take away from there in different ways. Exciting courses and people, inspiration from the education, the place and the other educations. Such a great place with great people, from whom you can learn a lot if you want.
