Building maintenance – The facade and windows of the house

Course leaders: Tor Anjar, Gunnar Dahlström and Finn Milton

During the first week of the course, when Tor and Gunnar supervise, the focus is on documentation and analysis of facades and construction techniques to learn about the construction of the houses. We will learn to sharpen edge tools, hand plane and make wood joints. Knowledge that we then apply when we embark on restoration work on one of Capellagården's 19th-century houses. The second week of the course is supervised by Finn and we then go through the basic steps in window renovation in order to be able to take care of our existing windows in a careful and traditional way. We will work practically with windows from Capellagården.
